Is there any way to take advantage of the discount for an annual subscriber who has their membership set to renew on August 11th? I tried to cancel and then go ahead and buy with the discount but since my current membership isn't up for another month the only option it gives me is to "set my membership to renew automatically" once it expires in August.

Thank you for all your research and time that goes into the letter. I was a free reader for a long time but earlier this year started paying on a monthly basis. It has added a lot of value to my economic world view and am happy to support the letter!
Is there a support email address for this newsletter ? I was paying month to month, but changed my election to annual because of the 50% off sale, yet I was charged for the full 100$ Help?
If you cancel your monthly, you should have the discount become available. Please try to cancel and you should receive a refund, and if you have trouble, just reply to any of our posts and we will take care of any issue.
Send us an email (reply to post) and we will help you sort it out. You can also try after a couple hours of canceling to see if Substack resets your status. This has worked for others.

I'm having the same problems. This use case (cancelling to take advantage of a discount) is not handled well by the app.
